Ryan Andrew and Elijah Ghabour Car Accident: Supporting Coach Eddie, of Cape Henlopen High School loses 2 sons in Lewes, DE fiery crash
Ryan Andrew and Elijah Ghabour Car Accident: The Cape Henlopen Lacrosse community is mourning with the Supporting Coach Eddie Ghabour who lost his two sons in a fiery crash on Monday. According to law enforcement agencies, the accident was prompted by speed. The deadly crash left two males including one who was a 9th grader deceased.
Cape Henlopen High School Students killed in Crash
“The Cape Henlopen School District is deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of two of our high school students as a result of a tragic accident that occurred on July 15, “Words can’t explain how heartbroken we are over the tragic loss of two of our students. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of the family, friends, teachers, teammates, and coaches impacted,” said the Cape Henlopen School District.
Cape Henlopen High School Students Dies
On July 15, at around 11:26 p.m., a BMW was traveling eastbound along the 16000 block of Gills Neck Road at an apparent high rate of speed. The BMW exited the road as it neared a tight curve on Gills Neck Road, for reasons that are being investigated. According to authorities, the BMW then drove onto a residential property, striking a wall, a tree, and a metal fence.
After impacting the tree, the BMW caught fire. The fire spread throughout the house, resulting in catastrophic damage. The house’s occupants were able to exit without injury. The driver and passenger were pronounced deceased on the scene. Their names will be concealed until their families are notified. The street was closed for about three hours. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is still investigating this event. Troopers are requesting anybody who observed the crash or may have further information to contact Sergeant A. Mitchell at (302) 703-3269.

Victims Identified
According to the school, the student victim who passed away in the crash have been identified as the sons of Supporting Coach Eddie. Their names are Ryan Andrew and Elijah Ghabour.
The school said counselors would be available for students needing additional support at the High School for the remainder of the afternoon, and again from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.
